I reached out to the web designer and this was her feedback:Hey! Totally hear you. Yes, the fonts I used in your design are available as web fonts- you just need to upload the webfont file formats and add them via CSS. Most platforms, including WordPress, Squarespace, and Showit, support custom fonts when set up properly. All the fonts we use on websites are not saved as images – I agree that’s a nightmare for SEO.
If your dev team is having trouble, I’d be happy to point them in the right direction or help troubleshoot. Alternatively, we can swap in free Google Fonts, but just note they won’t have quite the same unique look and feel as the original design.
I also checked in with a friend who runs a WordPress agency, and she confirmed that using custom fonts as live text (not images) is 100% doable- it’s just a matter of implementation. Just from a quick search as well it looks like there’s a couple of ways to upload them:
To upload fonts to WordPress, you can either manually add them to your theme’s folder and edit the CSS file or use a plugin. Manually adding fonts involves uploading font files (like .ttf or .woff) to your WordPress host, typically within the wp-content/themes/your-theme/fonts directory, and then referencing them in your theme’s stylesheet using the @font-face rule. Alternatively, plugins like Elementor or the Custom Fonts plugin provide user-friendly interfaces for uploading and managing custom fonts.
Let me know how you’d like to proceed! Happy to help support however I can.
I’m happy to have your help because a lot of this is gibberish to me. Let me know if I need to purchase/download a different format or how I can help.Thank you for everything!

I can see the Creative Vintage folder in the shared drive now.I have uploaded to the site and update the header styling to better match your wireframe. However, the font style did not have the outline as you show in the wireframe. I think the webfont version is probably different.CarolOn Thu Jul 3, 2025, 02:26 AM GMT, Angee Wentz wrote:I added the Creative Vintage font folder to the Image and Assets shared folder. Is that the one you’re referring to?

The header font from your wireframe wasn’t available, so we’ll need to find and upload it if you’d like to keep that specific font The header outline effect wasn’t available either, so I added a gradient effect to make it stand outThe links aren’t set yet – I’ll handle those in the next phase.Take a look and let me know your thoughts. I can make adjustments before moving forward with the remaining pages.CarolSent with ShortwaveOn Wed Jul 2, 2025, 10:09 PM GMT, Carol Stambaugh wrote:Perfect! I received all the assets in the Google Drive folder.I have everything I need to get started. I’ll begin with the homepage structure and work through each section systematically. You should see the initial framework taking shape within the next few days.I’ll reach out if I need any clarification on the hex codes or fonts, but I should be able to pull those directly from Canva as you mentioned.Carol StambaughCo-Owner, RadiateUSent with ShortwaveOn Wed Jul 2, 2025, 09:48 PM GMT, Angee Wentz wrote:Hi Carol,I added all the images from the wireframe and the logo she used, along with the Splash and Flower icons. Please let me know if I forgot anything or if you need fonts or hex codes for branding (I think you might be able to see those in Canva, but let me know if not).I appreciate your help and am so excited to see it!

The correct font is loading, but the outline effect and the fancy ligatureseen in the design isn’t displaying on the site. Carol suspects this may be due to a difference in webfont capabilities.
-
Carol copied in the dev team to help troubleshoot whether the font style or CSS setup is preventing the effect
The web designer who gave us the Canva files insisted that the fonts should work. Here is a link to view the wireframes.

Remaining / Next Steps

Investigate why the outline style isn’t displaying for the header font.
