🌟 PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT

GravityView 2.42 delivers a powerful overhaul of the Search Bar widget, giving you more flexibility and control over how search fields work and appear in a View. Here’s what’s new 👇

Customize the search layout

The Search Bar now works like the Layout Builder, letting you arrange fields using different row types. You’ll also find a dedicated Search Button field for more precise placement, and a Search Mode field that can be hidden or shown to the user as radio buttons.

Advanced search

New in 2.42, the Search Bar now supports a dedicated Advanced Search section. You can group advanced fields into a collapsible panel that stays hidden by default, keeping the interface clean and focused for most users. When needed, users can expand the section to access more detailed filtering options. It’s the perfect balance between simplicity and power.

Personalize the search experience

You can now hide individual search fields based on user roles, giving users a more tailored experience. Sieving can now be set on a per-field basis for choice search fields (i.e., automatically hiding choices that don’t match any entries in the View), and every field includes granular settings so you can fine-tune how each of them behave.

Search visible fields only

You can now limit “Search Everything” queries to just the fields that are visible in the View. This keeps searches more accurate and avoids pulling in irrelevant data hidden behind the scenes.
