Hi Jewel:
Since the test occurred with your purchase and sending the data to mailchimp with a tag, we have had an order come through but they didn’t get added to the tag “purchase”.  Can you check on this? Name and Email is Melissa Manifold
We are setting up email sequences it will be important that this tagging is setup and individuals are going into the various list.
I also wanted to see, i know we are using gravity forms and I’m some what familiar but wondered if there is an option to filter individuals and block spam? When we start feeding all contacts into our mailchimp system we don’t want to bog it down with spam contacts.
Thanks,
Nicole

Hi Nicole,
Based on what I can see from the entry, this person did not opt in to being added to the MailChimp list. I defaulted to the opt-in behavior for the form because opt-in is considered best practice and it only takes a few emails marked as spam nowadays to end up on a block list. If you want to opt these people into the MailChimp list without their consent, I recommend an additional tag such as “non-subscribed” or something like that for your backend records and to segment them when needed. Let me know if you’d like to go ahead with this method and I’ll update the form logic.
Sincerely,
Jewel

Hi Nicole,
No worries- I apologize, I realized I hadn’t answered your second question.
We have the Zero Spam add-on set for Gravity forms so it’s automatically added to any new form- and it is active on all current forms on the site. It will silently filter for spam submissions but it won’t stop all spammy humans like the ones I’m seeing getting past it from the general inquiries form. I’m seeing a few legit looking contacts but a bunch of marketing spam as well. There is one add-on I found for Gravity Forms called Email Blacklist which would allow you to block specific addresses. We can look at that if you’d like. https://wordpress.org/plugins/gravity-forms-email-blacklist/
Let me know and I can add this and we can try it with the general inquiry form and see how well it works.
Sincerely,
Jewel

Carol and Radiate

We appreciate your work but the response time on troubleshooting is falling behind your stated turnarounds. We are charged every month for support. In return, we need to have a faster response. This one  is still pending.

Hi Nicole and Dan,
I’m looking at the reply times below and I hope these findings can ease your mind.
  • The initial email was received on 7/28 at 12:03 pm.
  • Jewel replied 8 hours later at 8:41 pm.
  • Nicole then asked for a follow-up about 13 hours later at 11:10 am
  • And the final response is from Jewel about 3 hours later at 2:05 pm.
The most recent reply from Jewel gave an option for an additional plugin to try and block specific addresses and she asked if this is how we want to proceed. We haven’t heard back on that yet. Would you like for us to proceed with that option? The issue is that we already have the Zero Spam add-on set for Gravity forms so it’s automatically added to any new form- and it is active on all current forms on the site.
This current plugin will silently filter for spam submissions but it won’t stop all spammy humans like the ones we are seeing. They are getting past that on the general inquiries form. It looks like there are a few legit looking contacts but a bunch of marketing spam as well. There is one add-on that Jewel found for Gravity Forms called Email Blacklist. We can install that and try and start blocking specific addresses. Here is that plugin. https://wordpress.org/plugins/gravity-forms-email-blacklist/
Would you like for us to proceed with that plugin? Let me know and we will get that done asap.
Carol

@jewel_clark Do you want @bryce_willms to take care of this?
Here is Nicole’s response on the Opt-in.

Hi Carol,

Yes, let’s proceed with installing the Email Blacklist plugin to help block specific addresses. Thanks for looking into that option.

I did not see a response on the tagging of the purchased clients though – this needs to be fixed so clients will be getting the automated emails from mailchimp after their purchases.

Thank you,

Nicole

@carol_stambaugh I can take care of it. Ahhh, when I got her response to my reply and couldn’t make complete sense of it. I didn’t know she hadn’t received it. Where are you receiving these messages b/c I can’t see anything coming through that emergency gmail account. Is that what I should be using?

@carol_stambaugh I’ve replied to Nicole and cc’d Dan and Bela concerning this ticket via the radiateu.help gmail account. I’ve addressed the MailChimp and tag question (which I’d answered but she never got), and let her know I’d get the Blacklist plugin added as well as let her know she can work on the site without a problem today.
