$200k/mo with 90% margins – that’s the current monthly recurring revenue + profit goal for me.

But there’s a catch – I have to do it with these rules:

  • I can’t spend more than 20 hours per week at a computer screen

  • I have to lose weight/improve body composition each month while progressing to the goal

  • I must be able to scale hours at a computer down to 5 per week for up to 1 month (without everything breaking)

  • I must take a full, no computer or phone vacation for at least 7 days, twice per year.

(To see where I’m currently at towards the goal, check the weekly email I send)

It wasn’t always like this though.

Work/life balance has consistently been a problem for me.

This is me right after I officially dropped out of college:

Keaton Finishing College

I beelined it straight for my apartment and continued working on my fledgling marketing agency

…And then I missed out on a lot for about 4 years.

I had my head down.

I said “I have to work” when my friends were going on weekend trips.

I said “I have to work” when my body + mental health started begging for a healthier lifestyle a couple years in.

I said “I have to work” when I got a work message when I was supposed to be spending quality time with family.

I don’t regret the path I took – because of the flexibility and financial stability I enjoy at a relatively young age (I was born in 1997 – you can do the math)

But I want to make it clear that being a “Dominator” isn’t easy.

Heck, I’m not even one yet.

I have a decent business with some relatively passive income – but I’m 30 lbs overweight, awkward AF in real social situations cause I spent so much time at a computer the last 5 years, and I’m very scatterbrained.

Part of the reason for this newsletter is so we can grow together.

To me, a Dominator has 3 things in order:

Finances, Health, and Relationships.

All of these things bleed into each other and create a person who is truly “Dominating” at life.

Hence, the Dominator.

So here’s todays takeaway:

If I could go back and re-do the early stage of my business, I would have stayed smaller, longer.

I was chasing revenue, more clients, more employees, and an ego-boost of a business, instead of a cash-flowing asset that took as little of my time as possible.

After I sold, the focus was much less on ego, and much more on cash flow.

And I want to help you build your business – whether it’s an Agency, SaaS, Affiliate Marketing, Content, or Coaching business – in this same way.

Minimum inputs, maximum financial outputs.

So you can spend the rest of your time on your health and relationships – because that’s true wealth.
